Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using KidLoop (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use KidLoop. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.

3. The Service

KidLoop is a free neighborhood platform where families can list and discover outgrown children's items for gifting or free exchange. KidLoop is not a party to any transaction between users and does not transfer title or guarantee item condition.

4. User responsibilities

• Provide accurate, truthful listing information including photos and item condition.
• Only list items you own and have the right to give away.
• Communicate respectfully with other users at all times.
• Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Not use KidLoop for commercial resale, spam, or solicitation.
• Not post prohibited items (recalled products, hazardous materials, weapons, adult content).
• Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

5. Content you post

You retain ownership of the photos and text you post. By submitting content, you grant KidLoop a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content to other users of the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence.

6. Prohibited conduct

You may not: attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' accounts; scrape, crawl, or harvest data without permission; transmit malware or disruptive code; harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; or circumvent any safety or moderation features of the platform.

7. Moderation & account suspension

We reserve the right to remove listings, warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe pose a safety risk, without prior notice. You may appeal a suspension by contacting support@kidloop.org.

8. Donations

Optional monetary donations to support KidLoop are processed through Stripe. Donations are not refundable. KidLoop is not a registered charity and donations are not tax-deductible.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

KidLoop is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Items listed by users are provided without any warranty by KidLoop.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KidLoop and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or any items obtained through it. Our total liability to you shall not exceed $100.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Minnesota.
